5.4 replacements?????

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i own a 05 f150 5.4, high milage. ive been thinking of swaping engines. if i do this i wanna upgrade to tell you the truth. will a 2v 5.4 bolt right up? i'm thinkin of like a 02-03 lightning motor. i've also thought of jamming a v10 between the fenders. (if possible) i'm bout to roll 140k and the motors burning oil. i could fix it but prolly just run into more problems down the road.

another option. a buddy has a 2v 5.4 short block. if i pulled off the heads off my motor (3v) would they bolt up? is it the same block is what i'm asking. would my components bolt on to this short block?

A V-10 conversion is nothing to take lightly. It's a LOT of work and requires some fabrication. I don't think your tranny would handle it either without a lot of beefing up. I don't think your tranny would like a L either.

Man I hope you are right, cause I dont have the money to be getting a new one or doing an engine swap. I have 112,000 on mine and (knock on wood) have not had any trouble so bring on 200,000!

man to tell you the truth the truck has been nothing but problems. the guy that owned it before me treated it like crap. i got a good deal on it, 05' crew cab 4wd f150 for $12k @ 100k miles. once i fixed the oil burning problem and the knocking, what else is gonna go wrong? an 05' shouldn't burn that much oil. i'm trying to sell it and i can't get rid of it with with 140k+ miles. with the money i'd spend on fixing it, i'd be better off droping a 5.4 in it. found 1 for $1100 with 38k miles. hell i know i can get cheaper than that. just my opinion...
