there should be a little coolant hose going to that, there should be another on the bottom of the throttle body.

no its to warm the throttle body. if it was deleted it just means the throttle body isnt being warmed up. i'm pretty sure its just to prevent throttle icing.

coolant flows through the throttle body. you have to hook both up or it'll just shoot coolant everywhere. does yours have the lower hose fitting on the throttle body? if not then that may be why its not hooked up. then again it kinda looks like yours was leaking at one time.

im not sure if it has the lower fitting. is it going to be a big deal if i dont run it during the new england winter? and if your refering to the white shuff as leakage, thats white litheum grease. but im not sure what the deal is with that. i kinda dont wanna mess with it, but i dont want my truck dying on a snowy road this winter

i just saw how the tb kinda looked wet around the hose fitting and underneith it along the side of the tb.

you may be fine without it. i cant guaruntee anything because i dont know how cold exactly it gets in boston, except it gets colder there than it does in maryland.

Don't worry about it. Everything will be just fine. It was deleted for a reason. If the tubes are rusted out, you WILL have to replace the entire throttlebody assy. Just let it go. Warm up the engine before you go anywhere and you'll be fine.

It takes a VERY specific set of conditions for ice to form in the TB, so it's not likely. But if it happens, the truck won't die; the throttle will stay open, and you'll have to turn the key off to stop. But you have to remember to turn it back on so you can steer.

Buy a new TB gasket, pull it off, clean & hone the surfaces so you get a good seal, and spray the new gasket with Copper-Coat adhesive. If the nipples are rusted off, you can either buy a new TB, or a used one with less damage, or pull the tubing out & press in some new tubes. Use threadlocker or JB Weld to seal them to the TB.
