94 5.8
94 5.8
Hey I got a 2005 4.6L already paid off and looking to do some intense work on her..Im looking at a 1994 remanufactured 351 for about 1600$..Im sure Im going to need some mods my question is what exactly am I going to need..New trans? Mounting brackets? I just want some pointers and some opinions..I mean is this even a good move? Will it be better to go to a 5.4 instead? Im a pretty new to the performance scene so Im just looking at what Im getting into..thanks guys

not to be rude, but why on earth would you want a rebuilt 5.8 in a 2005 f150, if it were mine and i wanted more power i would get a 3v for it, BUT im not real sure on how much of a pain those are to swap in.
another option is just beef up the 4.6 a little, 4.6's arent that bad!

custom motor mounts, exhaust will need to be modified up to the y pipe. the wire harnesses are different and the 5.8 never had the 4r75 trans or 4r70w or cop ignition meaning you'd have to put in the 5.8 ignition module, harness, and pcm, and swap in the trans, plus all the sensors/switches. theres much more involved, it would be much easier to just swap in a 5.4 3v and supercharge it.
OK well looks like i got my answer lol..I figured there would be alot stuff i need..anyways ill lookinto the 5.4s a little closer..no offense but the 5.4 seems a little better to mod than a 4.6 imo..im learning alot from this site so like i said Im new to this...thanks alot gents!

well you could throw some boost at the 4.6 and get some power out of it, you could also stroke it and get more torque and much better bottom end. the 4.6 isnt a bad engine at all just not much of a truck engine when in its stock N/A form. throw boost at them and they'll fly. but its like they say "theres no replacement for displacement".
i use that saying all the time and live by it! if i had the money i'd throw a 512 stroker in my truck oh how 800/800 hp/tq n/a sounds so good
sorry i dont know much about the 1997-newer models
