two coolant sensors

two coolant sensors

i have 2 coolant temp sensors on my 97 4.6 and was just wondering if one was possible to be deleted

no reason really. i know one goes to the computer and the other one goes to the guage. and really wanted to know which one went to the guage

i dont know which one goes to which but if you delete the one for the computer then the pcm will send more fuel into the cylinders and it'll never run the same, and if you delete the one for the gauge then you'll never know if its overheating so i wouldnt even consider deleting any.

what is the point of this???

I wanted to do the same cause I didnt want to dril another hole for temp sensors, but then learned I could not

You need them both. I think one is for coolant temp and the other one is for cylinder head temp.
