I have run 2 tanks of " cheapo" fuel Through my truck and now it is acting up.

Fuel filter sounds like a good place to start.

FWIW, if you have been running the tank very low, that will allow gunk in the bottom of your tank to find its way to the fuel filter. I've seen several guys clog their filter after nearly running their fuel tank dry.

Octane boost won't do anything for you except make your wallet lighter.

agreed on the fuel filter, and the octane boost being a waste of money!

You need to buy gas anyway so get in the habit of filling up at 3/4 tank. And i add a jug of fuel system stuff at oil change time.

I'd suggest changing the fuel filter and instead of the high dollar BG-44 or Techron, try the Gumout with REGANE. Make sure it has it on the label as they make a Gumout without it. The Regane is a polyether amine and is just as effective as the stoddard solvent BG-44 or Techron only a lot cheaper. And if that doesn't clear it out, I see a Motorvac coming into yer life.

I get BG44K from my mechanic, I think it is like $14 or $16. I ran a can through 1 tank before I did my plugs in my 5.4 and all 8 plugs came out without breaking.
