Anyone ever have their truck do this? Started my truck up today and the cluster beeped and the message on the gauge display said Engine Failsafe Mode. I was just running to the grocery store to pick up some last minute grill out items but I noticed the truck wouldnt want to go when i hit the gas like its was being governed or something. Started it up after I came out of the store and it drove fine. Anyone else ever have this happen?

 

Obviously the PCM read something catastrophic in the startup menu. I'd keep an eye on it and expect it to happen again. I assume you have no CEL or there were no other lights showing at the duration? You might also want to check the usuals like coolant, oil, etc.

 

Its probably something with the throttle body. I've noticed that seems to be the problem most of the time when that happens.
