Changing power steering fluid

Since my truck has about 207k kms on it i'm going through the truck fluids and replacing them since im not sure when the previous owner did some of them. I was wondering if i can just suck out the power steering fluid from inside the engine compartment and replace with new fluid or will i have any issues introducing air to the system that could cause issues?

Yes, if you disconnect any hoses, you may get air into the system. If you simply suck all the fluid you can out of the reservoir for a partial change and refill it, you should be okay.

Also, besides the reservoir, there's a very minimal amount in the system. Last I changed mine, I removed all the lines on the non-pressure side and got a little more out but not enough to make it worth the effort. You WILL feel a difference with fresh fluid. If you're really ****, change the reservoir fluid, drive it for a while, then change again. That'd get most of it.
Use Amsoil ATF also...great stuff for this!
