Changing plugs

I have a 06 Mark LT with 73K miles on it. Is it time to change the plugs? I have heard that they snap alot of these when trying to get them out so what di I do if that happens?

You need to do some reading up on it. Use the search tab above and in Advanced Search, enter "sparkplug" or "breaking plugs" and see if you get some reading material. You need to find a dealer that has a good success history, discuss it with them. You will be fine. The good dealers know how to get them out now, even if one or two break. It is all 3V engines up till the early 08s.

Ya thats what I thought it was about time. & I will for sure be using motorcraft plugs. I will also do some reading and searches about this. I did talk to a Ford dealer and they quoted me $270.00 for new plugs & labor but I will ask him what I am looking at addionally if some happen to break. Thanks for the info.

That is a very good price. Most dealers charge for the extra time if they break one. Usually in the $80 range.

No, just an engineer's nightmare. They are 2 piece with the bottom piece being a long shank that covers the porcelain. Carbon builds up on the shank and won't let it come out the hole unless it is disolved with a solvent and slow worked out. The two pieces will separate, leaving the second half in the head.
