97 F150 4.6 Spark Plugs

Went to Autozone to get plugs for this, and, as some others here have noted, the Motorcraft AWSF32ps are not available anymore. The clerk did not want to give me anything Motorcraft.

They had Motorcraft SP432 plugs, finewire platinum, so I got some.

Are these ok?

Thanks.

Yep the 4.6 love MC plugs. If you have never done the plugs be prepared, as it will take you a few hours.Use a spark plug socket to get the plug out, and then to reinstall just alittle bit (with spark plug socket)then a regular deep well socket or you will leave your spark plug socket stuck down in on the plug.Have a good assortment of extentions too.Passenger side is pretty easy, drivers side is another story.

The integrity of the plug wires is critical on this setup. If it was me and the wires had not been replaced in 50,000 mi, I'd get a set and throw them on; Motorcraft wires ONLY! Ford will rape you on these, but dealers like Tousley will cut you a 10% over cost deal.

If you are changing the wires you might as well do the plugs. It took me about 1 1/2 to change my plug wires on my 4.6.As I ran them in the original place. Why did Ford make the longest plug wire run from the Passenger side Coil all the way to the Drivers Side Plug ( I think it was on the 3 or 4 plug) The way they ran the wires and them clips are a pain in the butt.

You can find nearly anythig you want on eBay. Just make sure to read ALL the descriptive print and compatibility charts included under the description option or simply send your VIN to the seller for them to to a compatibility check for you.
When you do, find the best deal, click, scroll further DOWN the page to find similar ads and find the next best deal, click... Etc etc... The more you do that the better deal you find ( always go with the second best deal, not the "very" best).
This goes for anything on any part. I have a knack for finding high end oem rated parts with lifetime warranties for a FRACTION of the same part at the stores. But take your time and make sure you know which part you are buying. 👍

Motorcraft wires and plugs are available at Rock Auto at a price that's as good as anywhere. Same with a lot of parts.

By the way, you replied to a 13 year old post.
