You would be first on the list. The 2004 2 valve head is Fords best since 1996 lol.

Other than that, -go with a Time Sert kit.

This can't be a 2004 IMO. If so, someone really did a number on it. I know they have been redesigned without any issues like this so far. I'm pretty sure the new heads have 9 threads over 4 threads in the chambers that the older heads had.
I have a 2004 that blew a plug last week. I just repaired it with the Time-sert kit. It also is a 4.6l. This engine has had nothing but problems for me. It has had a broken valve spring that took out a head and a piston, two spark plugs have had broken insulators that caused engine misses and now a blown-out plug. The truck has 120k on it. I have 2 more payments until it is paid off and I have spent almost $6000.00 in engine repairs. My next truck will NOT be a Ford.

they made the 2v 4.6 in the new 04 trucks, and up until recently.
They did away with the 5.4 2v in 04.
These guys had bad luck-the 4.6 is rated by many publications to be an extremely reliable engine. It was in the top of one popular magazines (who's name i forget)ratings several years of its production.

That's the first blown plug in a 8 thread head I've heard of - unless it was in the head that was replaced and it was replaced with an older 4 thread head.
