Question 98 F150 4.6l swap

I have a 98 F150 s/c with a 4.6l romeo that has packed it in. I would like to know what year 4.6 romeo I could move up to without too much grief. I have searched for a 97-00 romeo everywhere and found out that they are extremely rare in used form, not to mention really pricey. Yet the newer romeos can be had with low mileage for 7 to 8 hundred dollars.[what gives] thanks in advance for any of your knowledge.

do a 5.4 swap. PLENTY of threads here to walk you all the way through it. Not much troubles at all...And i would go with 1999-2003 5.4s. Its well, well worth the upgrade. The main difference is , you use you 4.6s harness and do a little wire fab to the harness itself to keep the coil packs. Search 4.6 to 5.4 swap. JMC has made a great great write up and i have a thread with ALOT of questions cuz im a newb but i got through it and it works awesome!

The 01 and up 4.6's have PI heads and will perform a lot better than a 97-00, but a PI 5.4 would be nice too.
