PartsTrain.com

Hey guys, have any of you ever used partstrain.com to buy parts? They appear to be way cheaper than the dealer, but sell the same parts. I know dealer is always the most expensive, but I was just wondering.

One other thing, have any of you ever used Accel ignition coils? I know that motocraft is best and thats what people are going to say, but I am just curious.
Any one used some similar to these?

Many have reported accel coils being garbage. Go to E-bay search "dg508" by them cheap uneek or global coils.

Thats is what I figured someone would say. I was just curious because they say its an OEM quality replacement. Im going to look up those uneek ones though. I have heard they are made by the same people that make motocraft coils, or something like that. Either way they are supposed to be pretty near the same thing.

After looking at them I see that those are COP's. I am looking for the old block-style coil packs. The ones that have 4 ports or prongs(whatever you want to call them) to run spark plug wires to. I think Ford did away with them after 1998 and moved on to COP's.

Yeah its fine. I knew that was what people were going to say. I am not in need of coil packs or anything, but I have never seen anyone ******* Accel either. I have heard that you can interchange motocraft spark plugs for NGK plugs and be just fine because they have the same heat specs.. I have never tried it though.

I was more interested in finding out if anyone had ever used PartsTrain.com to buy anything. They look like a good place, and im thinking about buying a new window motor from them because mine is going out. I went to the dealer and they said its going to be $118 and some odd cents just for the window motor and you can get them for $40 on PartsTrain.

I wouldn't waste my time buying a motor from an aftermarket source unless you know for shure what your getting, prolly end up replacing it again sooner than you would like. You might be better off getting a used one or something. I have been through the headache of replacing window motors, I wish I had just shelled out the money for the right one in the beginning cause now I have had to replace it multiple times and ended up spending as much as the new factory one would have cost me in the first place...not to mention my time and all the work involved.

So basically, you are saying go spend the extra at Ford. I really dont want a used one, because its just that...used. The one I have one there now has lasted 11 years and I want the next one to be able to live up to that expectation. What confuses me is that some days the window will roll up and down perfectly fine.. others it wont. I can only assume that the motor is going out.

In my experience the motor usually goes out first but it could also be the switch if it wont roll up or down at all sometimes...
