B's Truck

ok guys tookthe CAI off and cleaned the MAF like in my last ? on "Lacking power no new tires till fixed".
I don't see that much of a dif in the power but there is some....I did notice that the shift points are back and harder than before...But now I have a ruff idle.....not like it is going to die, but idle that you can hear and feel....no new tunes yet can't afford....Shop wants to clean the injectors?..... and no codes........gas mileage is a bit lower than with the cai on but im sure it is adapting...I had the battery discon prob for an hr.
I def will have them check that vaccum hose on the bk of the engine but that through a code in the past.
I guys possibly change the plugs but dang .........$$$$$$$$$... it has 80K on it 5.4l 3v with 40 series flowmaster...
thanks again guys.....

well it most likely needs a plug change if those are the original plugs. plus running lean with the cai will cause them to wear out faster. did you tighten everyting up when you reinstalled the factory intake?

Retighten things up?.........sorry prob should not be under the hood...lol...anything I took off and reinstalled I tightened up.....It is so weird that the shifting is so stiff and it shifts so early it seems and then if I coast at all it doesnt shift down to bring the rpms back up? and I can feel a small miss in the low rpm ranges....but still no Check engine light...Sorry for all the question's but moving TX:-) at the end of the month and it is a
2K mile drive...thanks again.....

What year is the truck? Do you have a tuner and if so, custom tunes?

I bet the throttle body needs cleaning and the plugs need changing. Neither one would not be a waste of money. It's time, with that mileage.

Well, I just looked up your earlier posts and see it's an 04 with the 5.4. I suspect you were running lean with the CAI. Definitly get the plugs changed as I bet the gap is too wide.
