diagnosis help?

91 lariat automatic:

my oil levels seem to be getting higher, but i don't see any water in the oil. my water levels have been going down, but i don't see where the water is going. yesterday my girlfriend drove the truck and was at a red light, she said it wouldn't go in gear...she pressed the gas and the truck didn't move for a few seconds. she said it smelled. today i started it up. it smells like dirty boiling water inside. when i gave it gas it began to misfire, which has never happened before with this one. i listened to the engine for a minute and began to hear a sucking-gurgling sound at one point like air and water coming from the passenger side of the block and i turned it off. any ideas?

was the coolant bubbling? motor? mileage? i would drain the oil and see what it really looks like. the inside smelt like boiling water? as in inside the cab? is there water or coolant on your passenger side floor? any white smoke coming out the tailpipe(s)? unhook the serpentine belt and start it up and see if the gargling noise still occurs.

Could it be a heater hose leak at the firewall. Also it could be dripping on the #4 or 3 sparkplug
