shutting off in reverse???

I was wondering if anyone has ever had this issue. I was backing out of a gas station and my truck just shut off. i didnt know if it was maybe the battery going bad or what. i just put new wheels and tires that are bigger and thought that maybe that was it but there only 33s so its not like i went a whole lot bigger. also i have a 05 with the 5.4 with about 64,000 miles so if anyone has had this problem let me know. i did have a problem with the battery months ago and i never replaced it because it stoped giving me problems.

Probabilities are a lot higher that you have a vacuum leak.

torque converter?

I had a torque converter go bad in an S-10 many moons ago. THe vehicle would die when I shifted to reverse.....
I have no idea why, but when the converter was replaced, problem solved.
Sludge maybe? Have you been towing or working the tranny hard?

Here's the new thing it feels like it loses power in reverse. Could that mean i need to have my tranny fluid changed?
