well the line on the front of the filter is stuck past the rib ...i had to use vise grips to get it past the rib and now it acts like theres another rib...where do i get another fuel line so i can just cut it off thanks
by rib i'm assuming the part of the filter that the retainer clips hold in? you probably bent the fingers on the retainer clip. i've done that to mine. had to cut the filter and cut and twist the retainer until it finally broke and came out.
yeah.....well im using a disconnect tool...but it should be smooth the rest the way out and dont see why it wouldnt just slide off..ive put vise grips up aginst the edge of the line and smacked it pretty good and still wont come off.. and i can move it around pretty good now
well there ended up being a small piece of metal pushed on the end of the filter ...i had to break the end of the filter off and bring the line down to where i could see it and use picks to release the clips ...why would that have been there and now its leaking
It's been my experience that it's alway best to thoroughly clean those fittings out with PB Blaster or something similar before attempting removal--and I do mean thoroughly--Lord knows what's been thrown up in there over time. I feel your pain
