Is it ok to switch? high mileage to syntec blend?

You can switch back and forth all you want as long as it has the Ford spec on the bottle. The spec limits the deposits, limits the viscosity changes from shearing and oxidation, and provides extreme heat protection. The brand and type is irrelevant. Buy the cheapest you can that wears the Ford spec, use a good filter like the Motorcraft or Purolator and have fun.
