Cool What does the (E) stand for?

I am sure this is a newbie question, but when I do a VIN code breakdown, my engine code shows the engine is a 5.4L SOHC (E). What does the (E) stand for in this designation. The engine vin code is 5, which of course is the 300hp motor. It is in an '04 Supercab Lariat 4x4. I appreciate all the responses I have received to my previous posts, as I am new to the F150 world and like what I have found so far. Also, is there anyway to get an Oasis report without going to a dealer? I would like to see what has happened with my truck prior to my getting it.

I'm not really sure. My guess would be E85 (ethanol) capable.

Nope, the flex fuel 5.4 is vin code Z.

I'm going to take an educated guess here. You have the standard NBS 5.4 3V as opposed to the 2V Heritage, which would be vin code 3.

The "E" stands for 5.4L SOHC. The "E" at the end of the engine description is simply a repeat of the code.

When you say a repeat of the code, do you mean the vin code. My engine code is 5 in the vin. Not sure what you mean. Sorry.

It probably means you have the 3V instead of the 2V, both of which were available that year. E probably means "enhanced" or something like that.
