new to fords

i have a 97 f150 5.4 that is running lean what should i do

welcome

lean both banks? check the pcv elbow on the back of the intake. you'll have to feel for it but follow the pcv hose from the passenger side valve cover to the back of the intake. they crack and get holes causing vacuum leaks. thats the most common cause of running lean on these trucks.

i check the hose it looks good the valve dont im going to change that any other ideas

did you have the truck running? sometimes you can feel the suction. make sure you get a motorcraft valve. if it aint the elbow then clean the maf(with maf cleaner) and replace the fuel filter and we'll go from there. let us know what you find.
