- That's all in the Cam @ idle, but the more she's built, the better she sounds.

thats not totally true. it depends on the cam. you cant go too serious with the cam with the stock tune. but you can get it tuned for it. i think the custom computer chips are able to tune it and they are easy to install. just unhook the neg battery cable and pull the ebrake bracket off(3 nuts, 1/2" socket i believe) and there is a little opening in the back of the computer for the chip. superchips has the custom chips and i think hypertech does them now. that or you can get it dyno tuned for it. my trucks got a jasper class 1 performance engine(just a little bit bigger cam) and i have a speed density system too with the stock computer and a hypertech chip(not the custom one though, that will be later on). no problems here.

and i've seen a guy unplug his iac and drill the hole in the throttle plate bigger(so it stays running) to get it to idle lower to try to get a similar sound

there are conversions for running a MAF on your truck

you can always go to long tubes, an H-pipe and flowmaster mufflers for a choppy sounding idle compared to what it now but nothing will replace a cam sound
