There are very few FULL synthetics out there anymore. Most are just GP III synthetics anyway. The GP III and PAO synthetic oils have no more lubricity than a normal dino oil. The blends turn in the lowest wear metals averagely. Redline at one time had esters in the base but they have been reformulating like everybody else looking for the magic bullet at the cheapest numbers. I would not want to guarantee that the esters are still there. That's why I recommended the Auto-Rx. You know it's a lanolin ester and you know how much is in the mix. If yer looking for a recommendation, I'd use a quality 5w-20 of yer choice and add 4oz of Auto-Rx. Otherwise, if you are looking for a top shelf synthetic, buy the Pennzoil Platinum 5w-20. But don't expect miracles from it.

http://www.auto-rx.com/

Ignore all of the claims. It's a lanolin ester that is great at cleaning the engine and keeping it clean. Esters also brings a hair more of lubricity to the oil pan and you MIGHT just eek out another mpg. It also brings a stronger film strength to the game which is the characteristic you're looking for. Yes, you can add it to the MC 5w-20 or any other blend but do not add it to any of the synthetic oils should you decide to change oils.
