you'd have to redo the front manifold pipes and if they do it right, they wont have to touch the cat. i was recently told that ford racing shorty headers and bbk shorty headers can give the same peak hp but they dont give as much mid range power. so theres another option. depending on who you buy from, the ford racing headers are expensive as crap. summit has them priced good and the bbk arent bad at all either. the bbk you can pretty much buy fairly cheap anywhere. i'm debating on whether i'm gonna get the bbk/ford racing shorties or a set of long tubes for mine.

I would go by Dyno results over word of mouth. Dyno results have shown -

Shorties = 0 gains anywhere @ any rpms.

LT's = 30hp/35torque gainers

I video'ed results 0-80

I gained 6 seconds without a tune after the LT install.
