thats right..you let everyone else to all the work and spend there time and hard earned money, then they post what they did...you come along and read it and tell others who might have similar problems

found this as well...it came off a 2001 expedition so it should be a PI intake but its not

Whether you are right or wrong, and whether he's right or wrong, getting into an argument like this with Brew does nothing but trash the forums. I'm not backing him, but I'm not backing you either. How about you 2 go work this out in private and come to an agreement to what is actually correct then post back rather than trash out this thread?

Well, the kids wrong period lol.

The 4.6L truck engines pushed 220HP/ 265 TORQUE from 97 -2000.

2001 4.6L 1/2 ton truck engines had a bump in HP/TRQ when Ford upgraded heads/intake to PI.

The 01's then spec'ed @ 231HP/293 TORQUE.

glc - What trashes these threads is wrong info. The correct info should be posted in order to help any/all users. No offense, but when someone flies in here posting incorrect info, someone should handle it. If you don't know it, then that someone isn't you.

Spec Data =

http://www.fordf150.net/specs/engines.php

I've already posted pics of the 2001 4.6L Engine a few pages back.

This is my last post in this thread.

I totally agree that those in the know should correct incorrect info, but you don't accomplish anything by namecalling. That applies to BOTH of you. Go butt heads in private.

FYI, if it's a PI 5.4 or PI 4.6 the intake is still bolting onto the same PI heads. the shapes are the same between the two manifolds, just the width to cover the different valleys measurements is different as well as the throttle body mounts etc, etc,

Listen, this attitude of your's is getting old. If you want help, there are plenty of very good tech's & mech's to help you out, and I mean alot.
This peeing contest your in and want to keep ongoing on this thread has benefited no-one. Because of this problem, those who can offer the best help will not post answers because they do not want to get involved in this nonsense.
You went from needing answers to proving ppl wrong.
Seriously let it go. Do the right thing, man up, and go through all the posts you wrote and delete the nonsense you have written in them so this thread can get back to being informative. I have seen Jbrew do the right thing before and completely edit his negative posts, because he is a good guy and a great contributer to this forum. Example: the info you gave for the DPFE Sensor was very valuable to me and I saved it to my " Ford codes service" favorites folder. If your not happy here, then stop posting. I would really like to see if we can get this thread back on track and what your outcome will be on the intake change (w/pics).
As far as Jbrew, go through his entire history on this forum and you will see what a big benefit he really is to everyone. His picture library is very valuable and it comes mostly from him tearing down his own vehicles. He does come across a bit harsh at times but his helpfulness more than out-weighs his harshness. One thing I can tell you, he doesn't like being attacked, especially in the manner you did it. Totally out of line.

Do the right thing here. If this keeps up, I assure you the Mod's will shut this thread down, and I am pretty sure they are considering it.

I did re-read Jbrews 1st post a few times and his next cpl., I did not see where he attacked you, honestly.
Then again, I know Brew and when he makes comments like that, I just brush it aside. Alot of what he says is actually quite comical at times. You just have to know Brew.
A little sarcasim maybe, but no attacking. He was just stating that you can not run without CAT's which is his experience and the experience of many other's on this forum, including a few Ford Techs who posted.
I wish BigBronc & JMC, and a few other senior Techs would post their views on running no CAT's.
Anyway's, I am glad you did the right thing and toned it down and now we can see how your project is going to go with Pic's I hope. Myself and many others on this forum use this forum for educational purposes. I have learned most of what I know about Ford engines from this site. I know Jeep mech's really well,(alot of Jeeps in the family incl. what I have owned in the past). And not by choice, Dodge trucks. (family members keep buying Dodge trucks )
Mostly, I have had to repair GM Cars, my Wife would only drive GM (up until her last car, Scion TC) and most of her family is the same way.
Anyways, I am stating this because I have a decent repair background but I am a student when it comes to Ford Truck engines, new animal for sure.
Good luck with your build, keep us posted, and I hope the nonsense is behind us.
