wanting to do a motor swap

2002 4.6 and i want a 5.4, how would a 3v fit in there, and what all would i need to replace, torque converter? exhaust manifolds? transmission? would everything plug up if i got a 2v 5.4

my 4.6 is pretty weak and i need it to pull trailers and stuff

look at the thread started by 01roush

look at the swap notes posted by JMC

a 5.4, either 3 valve, 2 valve or 4 valve will bolt into your truck, the 4 valve or 2 valve being the easiest to get running as the 3 valve will require locking out the VTC or the 3 thousand dollar plus install kit from ford

a 2 valve or 4 valve will be easy and you can re-use some of your parts
