Leaking Injector?

So i changed my oil, noted the amount of fuel smell in it and decided to prime the injectors and check after 5 min. i went from 35 with a 36 that poked its head in for a few seconds. within 5 min it was at 31 psi.

im pretty sure thats too many dropped in too few minutes correct?

I wouldn't trust that Klitch. Pull the rail w/injectors still plugged in / then pressurize the rail KOEO. If any one of the injectors drip leak or spray their bad.

Man , you've had fuel problems since you've brought that thing to life, it seems like. That sucks.

which is better bang for the price? finding a place to rebuild them if they leak or just replacing them all at once?

Question. You have forgot for on this subject than I know.
But with compressed liquid, it takes very little loss of fluid to loose pressure. Is 4 pounds of loss in 5 or six minutes really a leak. Or could it be pressure relieved to the by pass back to the tank?
Also, When you park your truck, how long should it maintain pressure at the fuel rail.

Here's an old Q&A - see posts # 10 & 11 https://www.f150online.com/forums/v8...102-photo.html

I have not payed any attention to bleed down since, but I do hear the FP prime only after the truck has sat overnight. Maybe this helps.

lol wow, well when i get back from running to idaho one last time i think? then i'll get the injectors up and check that way.

i really have no idea why my truck runs so rich if i dont find a leaky injector. both o2's flag rich all the time, depending on what DPFE i use, i get P0402 with the old aluminum one sometimes, and 401 with the plastic one.

thanks skaz. bookmarked.

So i need a different method, i lose 5-psi in 5 mins roughly since i like rounded numbers today. when i pull the injectors out of the manifold and turn the key on, they take turns launching out of the fuel rail. apparently my o-rings are drying up some.

LOL - DAMN!

Are your pressures normal when running ? I don't know what to say, you aren't factory and your tuned..

Fuel pressure always bleeds down quick for me. Well, I can't help much. I would testand record pressures mabe and make sure the regulator is doing it's thing Klitch.

Running rich will screw the O2's up pretty quick.

pressure is normal when its running. typical run range will be from 31 - 50 depending on how much foot im using. moderate driving will yield 32-45 psi typically.

i cant pinch the return line and then the supply line since they're hard lines all the way.

i believe the regulator is working, at least its not ruptured and trashed lol. the o2's are probably not the best shape anymore, i could change them but im afraid to cause i consistantly see 11 and sometimes mid 10 on my wideband under part throttle. full throttle pegs me gauge.
