Difference between Calif & 49 State Emissions

Looking at a couple of trucks with Calif Emissions, I don't live in Calif so wondering if these are something I should really look at.

What's the difference in the emissions packages (49 vs Calif) and is it possible to convert from Calif to 49 State? Is there even a real advantage to switching it or is a Calif Emissions truck something I don't want to touch? Currently I have a 97 SC with a 4.6 and it does what I need but would like something a little newer.

Both are 2006, one with a 4.6 and the other is a 5.4 (both are SC, other than the engine are pretty much identical).

Any performance or fuel economy advantage to one over the other in either the emission package or size in general?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Paul

You don't have to worry about it. Buy whichever truck you like & just drive it.
