hey gang, I have a 1996 ford explorer, i know is not a full size lol, but is a great vehicle 5.0l engine, first it started to bogg down, then it shut off, know it does not start, friend said it might be the maf sensor so i changed, know it starts but runs real rough,i have changed the maf, idle air control motor, and the tps, vehile starts and idles fine, but when i give it gas it wants to stall, i have to ease on the pedal and it will run fine, has a new fuel filter any ideas please help, dont want to get rid of vehicle. thanks

 

Have you reset the pcm by pulling the battery cable? Checked for the obvious like cracked or broken vacum lines all connections tight? Anything gotton wet under the hood like on the ignition? When was the last tune up? Sure you didn't get some bad watered down gas. Did this just happen out of the clear blue? Check in the pre 97 F150 forum?

 

check the fuel pressure. vacuum leaks. and answer all the other questions asked by 97fordnut. is the cel on? put a scanner on it whether its on or not and see what the sensors are doing and do the KOEO(key on engine off) and KOER(key on engine running) tests.
