Coolant drain plug?
Coolant drain plug?
Hey guys, ive looked everywhere and cannot find the coolant drain plug on the block. Im looking on the drivers side, does anyone have a picture to guide me in the right direction?

Ok thats weird cuz in the pic on that how to the drain pug is further back towards the tranny than mine. Mine is forward a cylinder right underneath the motor mount? Must be because its a 5.4 and mines a 4.6. Or maybe romea vs windsor?
The OP has a 4.6 so if you dont find it where its shown in the how to look under the motor mount. I hope your lucky and its not.

That would suck under the motor mount , - the only way I could get mine to rewind out of there is with the impact. If it was under the mount, that would be fun lol.
If I remember right, I use two long *** extensions w/swivel in between - backs right out.

Huh yea that must be another difference between the 5.4 and 4.6. ****ing 4.6. lol
Finally found it, the problem was, under my truck in one big pile of rust. All along i was looking for an alan key hext style nut. It was a regular Bolt style head. Not sure what the motor mount looks like. The closest thing to it was an orange type electrical plug? Anyways i found it and the coolant i drained was the first time ever. 370,000 km. Looked like hell water.

The Orange plug is probably for a block heater, unless it's a just dead connector hanging from the harness. - That's a steering assist connector. Our trucks didn't get that option lol.
The Oil pressure sender is down there as well.
Motor mounts- connect the motor to the frame rails. Their basically a large piece of rubber located between two pieces of steel.
Flush her out good

ok, thanks.
I did try impact on it last weekend, ended up breaking a standard socket (I have the 3/8" piple plug (square head) type).
Thanks for reply, I'll try it again today, since the oil has been soaking in for a week of driving. Need to get the cleaner & distilled water out of it.
