98 tranny problems

my auto tranny in my 98 makes like a skipping feel when in regular drive at any mph, and does it just before it shifts into overdrive. it doesnt slip it just sounds like it goes in and out of gear, rpms dont go up and down either while this happens...any ideas?????

My guess would be you need a tune up. Missfires are commonly mistaken for transmission problems. What engine?

if its a tranny problem then you'd be better off posting this in the tranny section. if its an engine problem then its in the right section.
motor?
mileage?
tranny ever been serviced?
ever been tuned up?
how many miles since tune up?
what brand plugs?
what brand wires if it has wires?
was dielectric grease used?
is it a vibration or misfire feeling?
maybe a bad u-joint, or needs tuneup.
i dought its a tranny problem if it does it at any speed(assuming thats in every gear as well)
fill in your information

98 tranny

your right im in the wrong area, but i didnt realize that until i posted it. cel is not on. and i know its not a misfire becauuse i took it to the shop when the light came on due to a malfunctioning coil pack, and when it was misfiring then i could tell it in all gears. this is only happening in drive at any rpm. i can feel it and here it by the tone of my exhaust.
