Engine Suggestions...

So now that the engine(300 I6) in my Long Travel truck is starting to take a dump on me its time to make the decision of what motor i should build for it. Im looking for a decent amount of power. Somewhere around the 350-400hp mark or more. Put it this way i want something that has more than enough power to get me around the dunes. Im debating on whether i should build a H.O 302 for it being that i just had one given to me for free. I know that 400hp is kind of a work out for a 302 being that i've build a couple of somewhat mean 302's. If i do end up building the 302 for it....i might consider on doing my first turbo project on it. What do you guys think? im open to other engine suggestions. If i could find one i would also consider puting a 351 in.

i'd prefer the 351 just because you can do alot more to it. plus 409 cid stroker motor dont sound that bad does it?
but the turbo(or twin turbo) 5.0 dont sound bad either.

most of the 347 stroker kits i've seen are doing around 340 hp, naturally aspirated... im wanting to build a forced induction 306, havent decided yet on what to go with... check out this setup:

Wow i would really be expecting more than 340hp out of a stroker. I've seen many stock stroke 302 go into the 400hp mark. Looks like the forced induction route is looking like alot better idea to me.

thats just in a stock form, he said with different exhaust, carb, and ignition tuning the #s would be higher

im leaning towards a turbo 306 under the hood, keeping it mild

hell yea...im leaning towards forced induction for sure. I'd like to turbo but im thinkin that supercharger will be a little easier and reliable for what im doing.

i planned on setting the turbo up differently than them tail-pipe bolt on kits, since i have a body lift i have a ton of clearance all around the engine for piping so im thinking setting it up on top of the engine similar to how a diesel is so its up out of any water or mud while 'wheelin.
