Help with my 95

I just changed the dist, Ign Module, Plugs and wires on my 1995 f150 with a 5.8. I marked the dist before I took it out and made sure cyl 1 was on the compression stroke @ tdc. I went to set the timing with the spout out at 10 degrees btdc and the truck runs rough. When I set the timing to 10 degrees ATDC the truck runs fine. I followed all procedures. Is something wrong here? The timing does move once the spout is re-connected. The truck runs fine but hesitates a little when going up hill (sometimes it jerks back a forth but only a little). Do you think I skipped a tooth when putting the dist. back in? I tried my best to mark the spot on the intake and block and make sure it was pointing towards cyl one when re-installed.

Thanks

Are you sure you know the difference between BTDC and ATDC?
