What is up with these new FL-820-S Filters?

They may have changed OEM's. Last I knew, they were Purolators, but they haven't always been.

I believe they still are. The Motorcrafts are just the same size as the Purolator versions now.

Still Purolator, but who use to make them ? I was under the impression it was always Purolator.

I think before Purolator, they may have been made by Champion.

I *think* that Champion did make them a while ago, can't remember how long ago though if it they did indeed make them.

While in Advance Auto today buying some MotorCraft Full Syn 5w-20, I looked in the oil filter aisle, & scoffed up that last two "Big Old Style". FL-820-S MotorCraft filters! Now I have enough to last me to over the 200K mark in my stash!........(LOL)....

There is a help group meeting at my house tonight. New people are welcome, it's only a twelve step process but it is very effective

I'm joking of course, but I don't understand. What up with this size fetish. I put two new ones on last week. I didn't even think about the difference, because it is still going to do the same thing just as well as the longer one did

Yea, there's a few old style 820's still on shelves, some Vendors disregarded that big recall after the last 10,000 or so - old style 820's left the plant without any media inside
