I always mark (knife cut) and check my oil filter, I've never seen them use a Valvoline one.

Also, it seems that they always overfill my oil. I wonder if it's common that their oil dispensor isn't calibrated correctly.

So working as a lube jockey at one (stupid and/or crooked) dealer makes you an authority on dealers across the country. Gotcha.

Anyways, I use whatever I have on hand at the time. People think too hard about oil. My dad's '97 5.4 has 201K miles on whatever oil I had on hand to put in it, synthetic, blend, or conventional, weights from 5W20 up to 10W40.

Time, and time, and time again - Use the proper weight for your engine. Use something with the latest API certification. Use a good filter. Change it regularly, and quit thinking so hard about engine oil.

QFT

Good friend of mine is an amsoil dealer. He will sell it to anyone but only runs it in his race car. I just run regular ol motorcraft 5w20 in the truck with a motorcraft filter. My car gets motorcraft 5w30 with a motorcraft filter. Motorcraft oil has been proven time and time again with UOA's to be a great oil and it is cheap.

I still don't know how you did that.

Hey, who will take about 100 gallons of used oil. A salvage yard would take that much right? Is that my best bet ? I know third party shops will take some, I already called around, but I don't want to make a bunch of stops if I can help it.

if its already in barrels and such then most likely a shop or dealership will take it and they could have the people take care of it. or if you have a oil company near by to take it, that or you could buy you an oil burning heater. 100 gallons should last a while.
