Buy a haynes chiltons or other repair manuel for your truck. They arent maintenance free. The book will help you do basic maintenance and will pay for itself many times over. I replace my fuel filter every fall. Its by the frame rail on the drivers side. You need a special tool you can get at autozone for 10 bucks. the book will show you how to do it.

If the fuel pump filter is the same thing as the fuel filter then i believe its on the inside of your drivers side frame rail

About $45 at a quick lube joint for a fuel filter. My dealer charges $69.

If the fuel filter has never been changed, it needs it badly!

Well, it will help only if it isn't starting because the filter is stopped up and starving it for fuel. It needs to be changed regardless, so you will not be wasting your money.

Alrighty, a week or so ago i replaced my Fuel Filter and for a tad bit the "not starting" seemd to go away

but now its back and very frequently...if i drive the truck and then do something for about an hour or more it just doesn't start up like it should...its even happening at night and morning now, if anyone could tell me what this is i would LOVE to find out and get it done now

i've tried pumping the gas petal a bit and turning the key to the battery mode right before it starts and sat there for like 5 seconds most nothing seems to work, i would relaly like to get this fixed before i head off to college in about 3 months

How dirty was the filter when you changed it? People don't realize that when you let the filter go so long that it gets really stopped up, it damages the fuel pump from working so hard trying to push the gas through the blockage. Often at that point you have to replace the fuel pump also. You'll need to have the pressure tested to tell if that is the problem.
