I picked up the same kit with this Blue tool from Autozone, first time i've changed mine out and it took about 10 minutes

 

I had trouble changing my filter today. The tank side came off ok but the engine side held on like a pit bull. It finally came off after screwing around with it for about 10 minutes. The gas coming out of the filter looked like it was rusty.

I have had to keep the engine turning for 3 or 4 seconds before it takes off lately. Changing the fuel filter fixed this problem the last time I changed it.
I hope the new fuel filter fixes my delayed start problems this time also.

 

wasnt really mentioned yet, but when you do the engine side, put the tool in, then push more line into the filter, then pull tool and filter off together
