Something is running after engine is turned off

After driving for 5 hours, i got home and turn off the engine to my 2000 F150 Harley, and under my feet a felt vibrations, and when i got out the truck, from the engine compartment it sounds like a electrical motor was still running. The noise was coming from the driver's side of the engine compartment. I left the truck along for 1 hour and when i came back the battery had died. So I decided to wait to the weekend to deal with the truck. I tried to jump start the battery the noise started again as soon i connected the jumper cables to the battery. I was unable to jump start the truck. So I brought another battery and installed it and then the fusible link caught on fire.

Does anyone have any idea what the motor running sound can be? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Derick

That's what I thought at first, but it's wearing down the dang battery and tickling his feet or something. That's a new one

The noise does sound like a pump motor running? I first I thought it might be the fuel pump but the location of the sound coming from the drivers side of the engine compartment did not make sense that it would be the fuel pump.

the fusible link that burn into two pieces is connected to the postive and negative connectors.

Well alright, I'll give it a shot.

The noise is your EVR. If you can find Waldo, you found the EVR -

On the truck -

By the EGR valve ^^^

Put your hand on the EVR while it's making noises. It will be vibrating. That's your noise.

Completely normal, won't hurt a thing and it's working as it should. They can just get a little noisy when discharging vacuum.

Nothing to do with the battery. You have a different problem there. You need to check all connections and charging system.

Use caution when feeling around for vibrations.

Waldo can be a little sensitive

No work has been done on my truck in awhile, I was coming back from NC to VA and after driving thru several water puddles I noticed the abs light came on and after several minutes it went off. I contining driving the truck for an hour and half and noticed that when I parked the truck in the my driveway, the vibration at my feet and the constant motor running noise coming from the driver's of the truck. After getting my neighbor to assist me Friday to crank the truck, thats when the fusible link caught on fire.
