2001 4.2 won't start
ok guys....help me figure this out....
a few months ago, after changing all the brakes on my 2001 f-150, my truck wouldn't start. It was pretty low on fuel, so i poured some from an extra tank i had, and after waiting a few minutes, it started up just fine. I then drove straight to the gas station and filled her up. Since then, she has started up just fine......
until today, i ran some errands, which involved starting the truck a few times. After I had turned her off for about two minutes and then tried to start her again, she wouldn't start. It turned over, and kind of sputtered like she wasn't getting any fuel, i threw it in neutral and tried to goose it, but to no avail. After a few tries, she wouldn't sputter, but would always crank. I tried to add a few gallons of fuel..but nothing. I had her towed to the dealership where i normally get my work done. They haven't looked at it yet, but I was curious as to what you fine gentleman would think...
I was wondering if it could be the fuel filter--which i have never replaced
or
maybe because i have never replaced the fuel filter, could it be the fuel pump has gone bad?
kinda curious as to what you think this might cost...let me know
