Engine Oil temp sensor

I resently had my check engine light go on, so i took it to the dealer to have them scan it. They told me the eot sensor went bad. So i bought the sensor and i plan to put it in tomorrow. What i don't understand is that i checked my oil recently and noticed it was really low and i just changed it 1000 miles ago. Basicly what i am asking is my oil being so low so fast have anything to do with that sensor? I don't think i am burning oil. I have the 5.4 Thanks

This might be a dumb question, but do you realize that this engine takes 7 quarts of oil on an oil change?

yea and i always check it when im done and here and there. After the oil change it was right below the max on the dip stick, now its a little below the halfway point. which means it went down about 1/2 quart in 1000 miles

As per Ford recommendations. Do not fill it to the max. Inside the hashmarks is fine. Overfilling these mod motors will lead to troubles, vibrations, etc.

You're either burning or leaking oil. Both of which is suppose to be normal if you're only losing 1/2 quart over 1,000 miles. None of that makes any sense. To me, it is simply not normal to burn or leak oil.
