What do I check first???

I had three codes come up at the same time. Where do I start??

P0300, C2229, B0189

I know that the p0300 is a misfire, but what about the others??

thanks

Well first, tell us why you pulled the codes in the first place. Was the CEL or another indicator light on? Was it running rough? Why did you pull codes? Obviously Autozone didn't do it, because the C... and B...codes won't come up on their scanners.

Yes the check engine light is on the F'in thing blinks at ya then stays solid. The codes are from a Scan Guage. If felt like it stumbled a little as in misfire, but then it could have been the icy roads too gaining traction after slipping.
What other "reason main" do you go and pull codes for?
I asked a question and get questioned about it before someone answers.
Do you want to know the road conditions, weather forecast, time of day, and any other thing that you can think of under the sun before you answer the first question.
What say you!!!

Look, don't get shi#$%y with me, I'm trying to help. You didn't give any info other than codes, then ask what to do. The P0300, and the reason the light flashes and is due to a misfire situation. I could have taken my time and looked up the other codes on Ford's website that I can access because I am a Ford technician, but I think I can stop this right now. I don't help a smarta@@. Good luck.

You obviosly dont have bad days. Sorry about rippin you. I like to get to the point. You could have gave the info and then asked why I pulled them. I still dont see why that is relavent. Then again I am a little ignorant.

I almost think the slush that I drove though may have caused some of the problems, but I am not sure.

Dude, every day is a bad day. Like I said, P0300 is a misfire code. No cylinder is indicated. The others are chassis, and body codes. The concern that caused you to pull the codes makes a difference. If the airbag light was on, or the ABS was malfunctioning, then the misfire is irrelevant. Your initial problem dictates which code to do first. If the running concern was why you pulled codes, and you found other codes, then fix the running concern first. A random misfire means that the computer found a misfire condition, but can't isolate it to a specific cylinder yet. The last number of the 0300 code will indicate a cylinder (ie P0302 means cylinder 2). I like to get to the point too, but don't hate the people trying to help. It's not like you're paying us for our experience like you would if you took it in to a repair shop.

i just read your sig and found your misfire prob!!!!

*Autolite XP104 Plugs, Accel coil packs, Accel 8mm wires* <~ Sig

1....triton motors only like motorcraft i ran. autolites double plats for 2,000 miles before i got a miss. replaced all 8 with motorcraft single plats 15,000 miles later no probs
2. ive heard bad things about accel coil packs...MSD is ok buc accel coil packs are bad get MSD or Motorcraft i went with motorcraft when i got new plugs
3. the wires really dont matter that much but i got 8 MM Motorcraft wires and they seal alot better than the other wires i had.

Id vote....8 new motorcraft single plats. 2.99 each i belive at autozone. new Motorcraft 8MM wires *this is just me* 2 new motorcraft coil packs...those will run you a few bucks....... I find the more stuff with "Motorcraft" on it the more these triton motors like life...thats why i now run motorcraft semi syth. and a motorcraft filter

good luck with the other 2 codes!

bigbronc, I guess I came across wrong. You are right. I should have been more specific.
How am I suppose to narrow it down which cylinder caused it? Just clear the codes and scan, and see if the other two come up before a misfire code?

You probably are right about the plugs. I thought I would take a shot with them. It has been 16k miles without a problem.

Like I said, only worry about what your problem is now. If your engine is misfiring, figure that out. Don't worry about the other two yet. If the engine misfires consistently, a scan tool capable of a power balance can show which cylinder is causing the concern. If not, you have to wait for it to set the specific code for a cylinder. I would recommend having it checked somewhere than can go further into it than the local parts store.
