Get to pull heads...advice?

Get to pull heads...advice?

buddys got a 1999 150 with the 4.6L. ive been told he is suspect of a head gasket leak. i havent verified this yet, but if worse comes to worse, anyone have some advice for pulling the heads and installing a new gasket?

I just did it in a 1997. Tough job! Get a Haynes manual and it will run you through it though.

Why is the gasket leaking? I know the pass side of this year is known to leak oil externally, but what exactly is the problem that led to the diagnosis?

i really dont know, like i said, i havent had a chance to look at it.

owner of the truck knows pretty much nothing about any kind of vehicle and the one who made the initial diagnosis, sometimes i wonder where he gets his information from.

apparently his truck is smoking from the tail pipe and the smoke smells sweet. what his definition of sweet smelling exhaust is i dont know. i told him some the usual check oil and coolant levels, all that. havent heard back.
