Smile bearing squeal

I'm getting this annoying "bearing" squeal that's driving me crazy! At first i thought it was the idler pulley, pulled it off,it was fine, then i pulled the alternator and even had it bench tested under load and it was fine.Still i have the noise.I checked the water pump,it felt real smooth with no play. The power steering felt good also, but it did have a little front to back movement, the steering is fine though. Does anybody have an idea? I sure would appreciate any thoughts! Thanks.

I have the same thing when it's really cold out. I replaced the idler and tensioner and it's still there. I'm suspect of the alternator or the fan clutch, but I don't know. Is there even a bearing in the fan clutch?

check the a/c compressor pulley. its low and easy to get stuff in. im guessing since both of you have 4x4s theyve been in the dirt at least once or twice.

easy swap if that is the problem and just the pulley can be pulled and reinstalled in half an hour in the driveway.

I just posted the same thing. I have this "squealing" coming from what I think is the left front wheel area.

I thought maybe a bad bearing or something. I cannot figure it out. Just started doing it in last 6 months.

2004 FX4 SC. No off roading done here.
