hi all.... i just did some searching about my cooling fan clutch, and now i am more confused than before...... quite often when i start my truck, i can hear the cooling fan spinning pretty loudly as though the fan clutch is engaged... and it does it even on cold startups (this morning was about 16). after reading some posts on the fans, some people said that with the engine warm and shut off, if there is resistace the fan is bad..... that it should turn freely, and with the engine cool, you shouldnt be able to easily turn it by hand.

this is backwards to what i always thought.... shouldnt it spin freely when cool, and have tension when warm?

im trying to determine if mine is bad and needs to be changed.
