Has anyone ever heard of the Cam Phasers acting up on a 2003 model. I thought it was 04 and up but when mine starts up in the morning it has that ticking sound for about 30-45 seconds then it goes away. I run MC 5w20 and the MC oil filter in it all the time. I can let it idle and itll go away less than min. but also if i get in it and take off you can here the ticking in the higher rpms from the passenger side but it always goes away in less than a min. Thanks

 

The cam phaser issue is with the 5.4 3 valve engine. You have a two valve. Most likely that you have an exhaust leak for a few seconds after starting the engine. That would be my guess, anyway.
