MotorCraft is your best choice. Use at least a single platinum plug.
I'm pretty sure that if you are changing the coils as well, that you are supposed to disconnect the battery. I do when ever I am working on the ignition system. You will be changing alot of parts, this will also reset your PCM to factory parameter's and allow you to go through some drive cycles so that the PCM can re-learn the drive cyles with the new parts you put in.

Good luck with the change.

yea motorcraft, denso, or ngk plugs. motorcraft is the best though. make sure you use motorcraft wires too. some people get lucky with aftermarket wires on the modular engines but alot of people dont. same thing goes for the plugs. and make sure you use dielectric grease inside the wire boots and you'll be good to go.

I had to recently tune up my 98 Expedition for maintenance duty. Here is what I used; nothing out of the norm for these engines.
Plugs:
Motorcraft AWSF-32PP Specification Plugs:
Motorcraft, SP432, Single Contact Plugs, wi .054" Gap.

Plug Wire Set (Replacement Highly Recommended)
Duralast, Model 4643 Cable Set.

won of the arginal coil packs went bad so i replaced the coils with napa coils at 120,000 miles. and i changed the plugs at 85,000 miles but kept the orginal wires on it. now i have 125,000 on it and its starting to run rough so im going to change the wires and plugs and go from there
