i am trying to help a friend out with his coils, he has a 2004 F150 FX4 5.4, and needs coils. i told him about the uneek coils that i used on mine, and we are going to go with them. my question is, are the coils for the 97-03's (dg508) the same as the 04's with the 3 valve heads? also on the 3 valve motors, do you use motorcraft plugs or a different brand? thanks

Nope! There's 3 types of COP systems. 2V, 3V and 4V.

He needs 3V (3 valve coils).

the 4.6 still had 2v heads but all the 04+ nonheritage 5.4's are 3v's. all the 3v engines use the same coils.

 

how have the reviews on the weapon x coils been. they showed up today, and the plug in is at a different angle and there is no bracket to bolt them in... anyone use them in the past and how do they work.
