Putting a 5.0 L out of a 89 Pickup into a 98????

Butchering How????
motor mounts?
nevermind i just realized what i would have to do!!!!!!

Unless you're just doing it as a hobby project, it would likely end up being a lot more work than it would be worth. Everything would have to be custom fit and you'd have to gut the existing electronics and fuel system because none of it would be compatible. In the end you'd have a one-off machine that likely would have numerous nagging problems that kept popping up and you wouldn't have gained anything over replacing the existing engine with another of the same kind from a junkyard.
