you have a problem with the airbag system. the light is flashing a 2 digit code.

count the flashes and post the code here. as soon as you turn the vehicle on the light will flash a few times, then there will be a small break and flash again. this sequence will be repeated 2 or 3 times. count the flashes to get a 2 digit code.

Sounds like the airbag light. It's blinking a pattern that you can count to figure out the two-digit error code. It will repeat the pattern several times then stay on solid. Can you get a count of the blinks?

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_...g_code_46_mean

"Q: What does Ford escape airbag code 46 mean?

A: It is a loose connection under the drivers seat toward the back of the seat. Disconnect it, make sure it is clean and reconnect. That should solve the problem."

Good deal! Happy to help. The folks around here are a great group. They really know what they're talking about and they spend a lot of time helping solve others' problems. After all the help I've received (most of it "silent" via the Search feature) I'm really glad to have been of assistance.

Cheers!

Ed
