What is cheep? If ya don't mind me asking?
I sold a new blower,throttle-body and upper plenum for $350. Just the blower is cheep but you would be better of with a complete assembly like this.

Or this.

The only difference from your 5.4 and an L 5.4 is the lower compression forged pistons & blower.

Phil

Dangit Phil, - did you have to post those

You got me counting pennies and looking around house for stuff to sell

The kids got new TV's for Christmas

,,,That is just the intake assembly you would need to put on your 5.4,,,No motor...lol
That's what I meant by(you don't want to buy just the blower) You need the blower, upper plenum,throttle-body,intake-manifold,injectors,fuel rails, coil on plugs, wire harness with all the censers, hoses.
"Complete assembly!"
The silver one came on the stock Lightning and the black one came on the stock 02 03 Harley trucks.

i see what your saying now though. you cant just "put" a supercharger on there like nothin. it has other components that need to be installed. definitely gettin the hang of it now.
hmm i also asked if the 5.4 reg and the lightning 5.4 were really all that different as far as assembly i.e placement of certain things and the guy said kinda. alt is different and belts and pully system is different. along with some others.
would it be possible to take the regular 5.4 and "make it into" the lightning motor? would this be cheaper or am i just making things hard for you guys to explain ha.
it would be almost the same right? 5.4 supercharged vs 5.4 lightning supercharged. they are essentially the same thing right?

Those kits above will bolt right down. Need a belt, air intake, MAF and custom tuning and your good to go. Hell , they even come with the EGR pipe and gaskets.

Ooops , you need an intercooler set up as well. My bad.

There's a list here - http://www.madenterprise.com/scparts.htm

^^^^^^^ You must of got sidetracked with all the pretty pictures..
In other-words,,the pistons are different,,,every thing else can be bolted on to be the same. Both 5.4 blocks.

How much did they tell you for a long block?

Long block is the block, all the internals & heads.

But without the fancy valve covers...lol

Short block is just the block with all the internals. Crank, rods, pistons.

ohh ok. he told me 4,480 for the long block. but the thing was he said nothingggg would bolt up. that it was all specifically made for the lightning which i was kinda iffy about because think about it. why would u make a base engine. then take that base engine and completely rework it so that nothing from the base engine worked on the reworked engine but yet still call it the same things almost and sell it? i just didnt think ford would do that sorta thing ya know? if it were me ide say no, lets take this great engine and make it scream while still using most of the same base engine parts so we dont have to machine specifics and add to build cost which would take away from my profit costs. ha

so you saying that putting that crank on there would be a better alternative then doing the supercharger set up? or is it kinda like a preference thing.

No,,a stoker crank is not good for a every day driven truck!
It's more for racing.

This is what my builder told me,,,,otherwise,,,I would have one.
