truck wont start
Can I ask how you got a quart of water in there?
Sounds like you got yourself one large and interesting paperweight sitting between the wheelwells now... My guess, time for a rebuild, or get that 460 you've been eyeing up. Quart of water in the oilpan? Never good.
Good luck!

WOW. Then the engine probably is locked up. I was thinking the pistons are probably rusted, at least somewhat, to the cylinder walls. If you was going to try and free it up I would spray about a fourth of a can of something like liquid wrench or PB Blaster in each spark plug hole.
If the intake was all in place and the spark plugs were all in there may be some hope. But that quart of water had to get into the oil pan through somewhere. The cylinder walls would probably be rusty and there would probably be a rust ridge at the point where the top of each piston stopped. I guess anything is worth a try. It may run a while if you can free it up. It's your call. Good luck whatever you decide.
Doesn't sound like this is your problem, but...
On my '97 with 4.6liter, I came back to the truck after getting a haircut and the engine wouldn't turn over. First thought was a battery (replaced with a known good one), then starter (just tested the old one to determine it wasn't the problem) and finally, I took off the serp. belt and viola! It started right up. Turned out the AC compressor was siezed. I never would have believed it could prevent the engine from turning over, but that's what it was. Hopefully, this might help someone else with what they think is a siezed engine (which was what I was leaning towards).
