Draging when starting cold ??

Draging when starting cold ??

2004 f150 5.4.......of the morning time when it is cold outside and i go to start the truck, it drags like the battery is dead, but i tested the battery and its good. but the rest of the day after that cold start it starts fine?? What could be causeing it to act like that on a cold start?

did whoever tested the battery test the cca or just ca

you need to find out whether they tested cca(cold cranking amps) or ca(cranking amps). if they tested cca and it passed then the battery is good. but if they tested ca and it passed doesnt mean a thing during cold weather. a battery isnt able to put out as many cranking amps in cold weather which may be why your having problems. and it may be fine afterwords because your battery is in the engine bay and the heat from the engine is keeping it along with everything el;se in there warm.

also even if the cca's are good you may not have a big enough battery. sometimes people put in smaller batteries to save a buck, not knowing anything about cca.
